My dog is coughing blood, has a swollen leg, and won't eat dog food.

With these symptoms, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Dangly so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. With the swollen leg and vomiting, there could be a systemic illness or infection going on. I would have his blood tested and have x-rays taken of the leg and abdomen. There are multiple causes for leg swelling and lameness. These can range from injury to limb, tick borne disease, HOD (a disease where the bone "grows too fast"), injury to the soft tissue structures of the limb (ie tendons), wound on the limb, immune-mediated diseases or even an abnormality with the bone or cartilage. His panting could be from discomfort or pain. I am concerned that this is progressive. Unfortunately there are not any over the counter medications that can help without potentially causing damage to other parts of his body. As this has not resolved and is progressive your local veterinarian may be able to do a complete physical exam and localize the area of concern and recommend x-rays. Good luck with Dollar!

Your Rex will need an x-ray to find out exactly which structures (bones, joints, tendons) are affected. Please, take him to your local vets as soon as possible as it does look serious.

Since she is vomiting, acting lethargic, not eating and having neurological signs, I would have her seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Especially in an older Golden, cancer is a top differential for the cause of her clinical signs. Your veterinarian will want to do a complete physical exam, along with bloodwork and/or x-rays to look for evidence of disease. Because she is coughing, I'm afraid she may have cancer in her lungs, or less likely something like pneumonia. Unfortunately, you may have to consider thinking about her quality of life. Vomiting, coughing, not eating and being unresponsive to stimuli are not indicative of a good quality of life. I hope this is helpful, and I'm very sorry to hear about Booda.

He could have a number of things causing this including parvovirus (if he isn't fully vaccinated), a foreign body obstruction, or just a severe case of colitis associated with the new food that you introduced. Poor guy. I would recommend taking him in today if possible and getting this treated quickly. Best case scenario is that he has a severe case of colitis and a short course of antibiotics and probiotics, along with a bland diet is enough to get him well again. Based on your description, I would recommend having Bucky examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. The limping on the back leg and coughing may be related. If he has a bone tumor it may have spread to the lungs causing the cough. These symptoms could also be completely unrelated and he may have bronchitis or a respiratory infection along with a leg injury such as a torn ACL. Coughing in dogs can be caused by pneumonia. upper respiratory infections, heartworm disease, or heart conditions. Bloody diarrhea can be caused by inflammatory bowel disease, viral diseases such as parvovirus, toxin ingestion, or bacterial infections. Sometimes, severe parasitic infections can cause these signs. A vet can perform a physical exam, and will likely need some further diagnostics such as bloodwork and x-rays to determine next steps and treatment. I hope all is well with Iris!
