Why is my dog's pee cloudy and white? Should I be concerned?

This could be normal vulvar discharge, but sometimes mucus and cloudy urine can also be seen with a urinary tract infection. If you continue to see mucus, or if Bailey is straining to urinate, urinating more frequently or having accidents in the house I'd recommend seeing your vet for a urine check.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! What you are seeing is likely mucous. It could be a urinary tract infection of puppy vaginitis. They tend to grow out of puppy vaginitis. Sometimes they need antibiotics if they are urinating small amounts frequently. I would set up an appointment with your Vet for an exam. I would try to collect a urine sample for the appointment. First wipe the vulva with a baby wipe or a slightly soapy towel (rinse) before collecting. I hope this helps!

That is an interesting picture. Is it possible that there was something on the sidewalk prior to her urinating? Was this a one time occurrence? I would recommend taking her into a veterinarian. They may want to collect a sample to see if it is still present. They may also want to collect a sterile sample of urine by doing a cystocentesis ( using a syringe and needle ). It is possible she is having some mild vaginal discharge which could be being expressed when she urinates. If she seems to be exhibiting any difficulty urinating (straining, taking longer to urinate than normal, or going more frequently in smaller amounts), I recommend having her evaluated by a veterinarian, as this could indicate something like a urinary tract infection. Your veterinarian will want to perform a full physical exam and also examine a urine sample for evidence of infection. If she does have a urinary tract infection, these are often uncomplicated and treated successfully with antibiotics, as long as she is otherwise healthy without any underlying systemic disease. Hello. It is possible that you saw a bit of mucous at the end of her urination. This could be very normal or could be an indication of a bit of irritation either in the vaginal area or the urinary bladder. It also could be discharge from his prepuce. Be sure Gizmo is urinating. If he is straining with no urine production that is an emergency and he needs to be seen today. I wish Gizmo the best!
