My dog chewed a computer cord. What symptoms should I watch for?

You can check her mouth to see if you see any burns in there, but you would have known right away if she was electrocuted from chewing this cord. I suspect she may be ok, and I would feed her. If she chewed them up small enough then there is a chance they will pass with no issues. However, you should watch out for excessive vomiting (even water), severe abdominal pain, lack of adequate stool size, lethargy and lack of appetite. If you have not seen any symptoms so far, then chances are she will be fine. Best case scenario is that she will have a little stomach upset because of the frayed edges of the CD she ingested, in which case a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for a few days may help settle her stomach. If you see any of these symptoms in the next 24-48hrs, you should take Rayne to your local vets as an emergency. However, if she chewed the plastic into small pieces, most likely she will pass it with her stools and she will not show any worrying symptoms at all.
