My 12-year-old Lab has a chest lump and cough. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 12 years and 4 months old | 100 lbs

my 12 year old male black lab has a large lump on his chest,its fairly large and he coughs on and off but doesn't appear to be in any pain.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I would recommend taking Jack into the veterinarian to have his lump and cough assessed. The two may be unrelated issues, or it is possible that the lump is related to the cough. The vet may recommend aspirating or biopsying the lump to determine what it is, taking xrays to look at his heart and lungs or other diagnostics.
