Calming pheromone collars (Adaptil is one example) can be quite beneficial for some dogs and may not cause any changes in behavior/anxiety/stress in other dogs. The hard part with these products is that their efficacy for your individual dog is only established through trial and error.

They are certainly not harmful, provided that you follow all directions on the packaging. Plug in pheromone diffusers are also available if you feel more comfortable using these products rather than a collar and can have a similar effect.

This collar is very safe to use and there is definitely a chance that it may help your dog. It is an appeasement pheromone which calms the dog and takes anxiety. You may still have to work with your dog on reducing the anxiety with training, as Adaptil is not remedy for all, but it is a great supportive treatment.

Adaptil is a synthetic pheromone that works to calm dogs. It is used for a variety of stressful situations that dogs may encounter including thunderstorms or loud noises, car rides or other types of travel and many other situations. It can be used on a short-term or long-term basis.
