Why does my dog have bumps on her private area after finishing heat?

I would recommend that you have these spots examined by a vet. It could be a small pyoderma or skin infection, which is common in young dogs, or could be related to urine pooling in the area (especially if she has a recessed vulva). Or it could be something else. The vet will examine it and may take a small sample to be examined under a microscope.

These are probably pustules from a minor skin infection. Since she is not spayed, she may continue to get these due to underlying increase of hormones. If she is not a breeding bitch you should have her spayed which will hopefully stop them from recurring. This presentation could be due to a localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. It looks like a mild skin infection, possibly from the skin in that area staying moist and touching more than other areas on her body. Try keeping the area clean with a mild soap, making sure to completely remove any soap residue with a warm damp washcloth and apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment (without steroid, as steroids slow healing), rubbing it in well. Do this at least daily, and consider bathing her with an oatmeal based pet shampoo to soothe her skin overall. If this area doesn't improve significantly over the next few days, if it gets worse, spreads, if she starts itching or licking excessively, get her in to see your vet as this may be a sign of a an underlying problem that may need more extensive treatment.

It appears as though this may be a pustule and that she may have a bit of a skin infection in that area. This can commonly occur in females that have extra skin folds around the vulva which it does appear that Lucy does have some excess skin around the area where urine could potentially become trapped. I would recommend using a topical medication called zymox topical ointment. If this bump is from a skin infection then I would expect it to resolve in about 7 to 14 days with topical treatment. Once this resolves, I would recommend keeping her private area clean using malacetic conditioning spray. If more bumps begin to show up or this bump persists or worsens then I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at this for further testing and treatment recommendations. Oh great! The picture worked this time. The picture sure looks like pustules, which is what I was describing in my first answer about pyoderma. However, this is not a diagnosis without a veterinarian seeing the patient and perhaps even sampling the bumps to determine what they are. Transmissible venereal tumors are also possible.
