What breed is my dog and why does he bark at animals and strangers?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your question. Dallas is exhibiting typical puppy / dog behavior. This is just behavioral and can be corrected. I would recommend using a spray bottle filled with water and every time he barks, lightly spritz him in the face while using a command such as "No barking!" If he continues to bark, you can also use what is called a citronella collar, which can be found online quite easily. I hope this helps! Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Cooper is adorable! He is a mix breed so it is just a guess. He looks like he could be a shepherd or australian shepherd mix. I see Rat terrier in his face in the middle picture. We may never know. From the pictures, it does look like he may be a german shepherd or similar breed It is hard to estimate age from pictures, but he is clearly young (under a year). I would recommend if he was found, he be taken to a veterinary office for a check-up and to be scanned for a microchip.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! He is adorable! He is a mixed breed dog but a predominant breed is hard to guess as he looks very well mixed. I would say that he has some characteristics of a Newfoundland and a Bernese mountain dog. I would say that he is likely to be a medium-sized breed dog to perhaps a bit larger. Good luck!
