My dog had a breathing scare. When should I worry and call the vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Laura,, In response to your answer, my dog is part Belgium malinois and part Carolina dog,, he's fine today, thank God, I really appreciate you answering me so quickly. I may make a call to my vet when she opens today. Thank you again. I'm an ER nurse,, not too many things fluster me,, but I have to admit,, this did,,I was up half the night checking on him.

You are very welcome!

An apneic dog would make anyone panic! Even us! His mix doesn't commonly have over long soft palates, usually more bully breeds and those with smooshed faces. It is not wrong to even have him looked at today before the weekend. I wish you both the best!
