Unfortunately any skin mass can be cancerous but the good news is that most are benign. The only way to know for sure is the have a small sample of the mass collected and examined under the microscope. I recommend for Pepper to see his veterinarian. Sometimes the doctor can tell by palpation but other times they need to see the cells. Anytime you have a dark colored mass, melanoma is on the concern list. The tumor in your picture does look like it needs to be removed, but if there are multiple tumors and/or they are in a location that would make surgery challenging it could be a lot to put him through. You may want to ask your vet if a fine needle aspirate if the tumor or even a biopsy could help determine prognosis with surgery - if it is a tumor type that can be ‘cured’ with surgery it may be worth going forward. If the prognosis is not good surgery may not be worth it.

Congential conditions (things that are inherited) can cause aneurysms, but I can't find any evidence that aneurysms themselves are inherited. The concern is often more linked to a tumour of the pituitary gland, which is located at the base of the brain. The tumour can be benign or malignant and what it does it is stimulating the adrenal glands to produce cortisol. If the pituitary tumour grows, it can cause neurological signs and therefore seizures too. The masses can be quite large , over 1 cm , and cause symptoms related to pressure to the brain structures nearby. If the seizures are not very frequent, it means the tumour rate of growth is not that fast, and this is a good sign in itself. However an MRI would be able to provide more information and allow monitoring, if possible.

Hi Holly! Unfortunately yes, there is always a possibility this could be a testicular tumor, but it could either be a benign or a malignant tumor. The best thing to do is consult with your vet so that these lumps can be examined in person and diagnosed. Treatment for testicular tumors does involving neutering the dog, and that can be curative and often the only treatment needed. Make an appointment for Romo with the vet in the next day or two. This could be a benign or malignant growth. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign.
