My senior pug was bitten. Why is he depressed, not eating, or walking?

Dog bites cause a lot of bruising and often they become infected. With your dog’s age I recommend veterinary treatment right away. Since she’s not eating much she may be developing a fever or be bruised and painful. Again dog bites can be very serious so I do recommend you take her for an exam and treatment soon. You must take him to the vet urgently, dog bites always get infected and that is probably why he is showing those symptoms. it is also very painful and he will probably need pain killers as well as an antibiotic course in order to fight the infection.

Dollar is suffering from a severe infection due to the attack and is also most probably very very painful. you must take him to the vet urgently he will need a course of antibiotics and pain killers.

Another possibility is that he could still be in pain or perhaps there was further injury that you are unable to see from the outside. While these are vague clinical signs, these may be due to some sort of underlying disease of either the gastrointestinal tract, liver or kidney disease, and/or a possible neoplastic or cancerous process. Since he has had a decreased appetite long enough to lose weight, I recommend having him evaluated by your veterinarian at their next available appointment. Your vet can perform bloodwork to look for any evidence of systemic illness that may be contributing to his clinical signs. His clinical signs are unlikely due to behavioral changes alone. Loss of appetite, lethargy and pain can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. These are serious signs and a veterinary evaluation is needed to know what is causing these and what would be best to treat it with. I recommend that you have Oscar evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. The pain is an issue but the most important issue at the moment is the infection he has developed, you must take him to the vet ASAP, he will need a course of antibiotics and pain killers (you can't use human pain killers for dogs).
