My dog has a suspicious bite or wound. How do I treat it at home?

My dog has got bit by an insect how should i treat it

I’m not sure that is an insect bite. That looks very suspicious for a bacterial infection, or some sort of wound. You can certainly try at home treatment. Wash it once a day with soap and rinse it well. You must make sure that Zeus does not lick the area as this can make it worse. Zeus should wear an Elizabethan collar at all times. You can apply a small dab of coconut oil to the lesion twice a day. If it does not start looking better within one week or if it starts looking worse, he should be examined by the veterinarian.
