My dog has bald spots on his head. Is it serious? What's the cause?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 75 lbs

My dog is just over a year old and has these bald spots on the side of his head. I don't know what it is. Please help. The huge one is fresh. The other two have healed.

They look a bit like hotspots. I would recommend having Roscoe examined by a vet to see what is going on, and more importantly, what may be causing it. It could be allergies, fleas, or an ear infection.
