My dog has atopic dermatitis. Are frequent antibiotics safe for him?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 10 months old

My vet told he has atopic dermatitis so what's the permanent cure of it as whenever it become serious like after 3 months then we need to start 7 day or 15 days cephalexin 500mg twice a day course and I am afraid like If I continue giving these antibiotics it can damage his kidneys and liver so tell me some other treatment I have also started omega oil and flaxseed in his meal from today my other german shepherd never had these frequently also whenever this happen to other gsd it heals automatic

Hi. I believe this question was answered yesterday, but maybe not. The antibiotics will not cause kidney or liver damage. Some chronic allergy and skin cases do need off and on antibiotics. Allergies can be very difficult and sometimes never be 100%. We try, but don't always get there. If you are getting frustrated then a veterinary dermatology referral would be indicated
