My dog ate a stuffed animal tail. Should I worry about obstruction?

The good news is that is passed out. IF there are no other pieces then you are fine and there is nothing to worry about. If there were other parts of the toy ingested, then all you can do at this point is to monitor for vomiting, decreased appetite or bloody diarrhea. If these occur then get him checked for an obstruction

Hi there. It could be a little too early for Snowball to pass the stuffing. We always worry any time a puppy ingests anything it shouldn't. Please watch her stools to see if anything is passing or if you note any blood in her feces, etc. If she shows any signs of vomiting or diarrhea, please take her in. Depending on the amount of stuffing she took in-she could potentially become obstructed which could make her very sick. It sounds like you're watching her very closely, good for you! This is a fairly small piece of cloth for a dog this size, so I wouldn't worry too much - it will probably pass through with no problems. You will need to monitor him for the next 2-3 days for any problems such as repeated episodes of vomiting, acting lethargic, or not wanting to eat - these can be signs of a blockage, so if you see them, you will need to take Archer to the vet right away. But as long as he is acting normal, I wouldn't worry at all.

Trick did eat a good size piece of vet wrap! Hopefully, it will pass through without problem, but I would monitor him to be safe for signs of obstruction just in case. These signs include vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, lethargy, and constipation. If you see any of those signs, I would take Trick into the vet right away. If he is a larger dog, it should pass without problem, but it's always good to observe him to be safe.

It can take up to 72 hours or longer for this string to pass. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do to get it to pass, it either will or it won't. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, or lethargy, then I would take him into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

I"m sorry that Taco chewed off a piece of his toy. This is a very small piece of fabric and would be most likely to pass. I would monitor him very closely for any changes in behavior, appetite, or if he begins vomiting or having diarrhea. If these clinical signs occur, he should be evaluated by a veterinarian ASAP.
