My dog ate soda crackers. Is it dangerous if I don't know how many?

Poor Rascal! I recommend having him skip one meal to allow his stomach time to settle. Continue to offer him fresh water, and if you notice vomiting/diarrhea/ lack of appetite or decreased energy, I recommend seeing your vet. Sometimes unusual or new foods (especially salty foods like pretzels) can be upsetting to a dog's stomach, and it's important to get vet care for Rascal if you notice theses signs to help prevent the risk of dehydration and worsening of his symptoms. This is probably just from him getting something rich he was not used to eating. I would keep an eye on things, as long as he improves and is back to normal in a day or so, not to worry. However, if he is lethargic, starts to vomit, the loose stool/diarrhea continues, is not interested in food, or anything else that seems abnormal for him, get him in to be seen by your vet as there may be something more than a brief dietary indiscretion going on.

Hi there. The graham crackers themselves should not cause any serious problems, although she may have some minor stomach upset if she isn't used to eating human food like this. The plastic is potentially more concerning - it may pass through just fine on its own, especially if she chewed it into pieces, but it's possible that it could become stuck in her intestinal tract and cause an obstruction. I would recommend monitoring her closely for the next 2-3 days for any signs of a problem. Symptoms of an intestinal obstruction would include repeated episodes of vomiting, not eating, acting lethargic, and not having regular bowel movements. If you see any of these symptoms, then I would definitely take her to the vet for an exam and x-rays. But as long as she is acting normal, you shouldn't need to worry :)

No she/he should be fine if it was just salt. It takes a lot of salt ingestion to cause any immediate concerns in pets (salt intoxication). So if it was only a small amount you don't have anything to worry about. Just make sure to offer her/him some water and access to water at all times, so if she/he needs to they can rebalance their body by diluting out the salt. Also I would refrain from giving him/her any people foods that are high in salt for the next 24 hrs, only regular dog food. If by chance your pet did ingest a large amount of salt then watch out for signs of trouble which include ataxia (drunken walk), panting, mental dullness, and vomiting. If seen then it is best to take him/her to your vet immediately for treatment.

Hello, and thank you for your question. Licking a bit of salt from pretzels should not be dangerous for Goldie. The worst I might expect would be a bit of diarrhea, since Goldie is not used to eating this food. If you do notice some soft stool, you can try feeding small, frequent meals of a bland diet such as boiled chicken and rice for a day or two until her stools returns back to normal. The most that will likely happen is he may have some diarrhea. Just keep an eye on him and if he starts vomiting or has severe diarrhea then you should take him to your vet for an exam.
