My dog ate poop with red in it. Should I be worried if he's fine?

Some dogs eat poo every single day and are mostly fine, if she is fully vaccinated then you have very little to worry about, if she starts vomiting or suffering from diarrhea you will then need to consider taking her to the vet.

He should be fine, it's possible that he will develop a gastrointestinal infection but that is only if he ate a significant amount of cat poo, otherwise you are not likely to encounter any serious symptoms.

In theory, she has not mount a response to her vaccines yet so she can still get infected with like parvovirus if those feces were infected with parvovirus. Hello. Yes, your pet can pick up parasites from eating manure, but for the most part, parasites are host specific. Your veterinarian may see some eggs on Costa's next fecal exam, but your heartworm preventative will eliminate the parasites, so this is not anything to be concerned about. I do not think you need to induce vomiting. the poop will get digested. Usually this is not dangerous, however there is a possibility that your dog may get some indigestion, ie maybe vomiting or diarrhea which would be due to bacteria your dog is not used to. If that is the case, you may want to withhold feed for about 12-24 hrs, then feed rice and some chicken and then slowly introduce his normal feed.

If this is a behavior that you would like to try and stop, you can try a product called Forbid, which can be found online quite easily. Luckily the parvoviris part of the vaccinations works well from the first dose. I know you are really worried but I think little Charlie will be absoloutely fine. Keep a close eye on him and if you notice any loose faeces go to the vet at this point. Parvo thankfully is quite rare nowadays because so many pets are vaccinated.
