Dog ate plastic spoon, vomiting, not eating. Is this an emergency?

Vomiting and inappetence can occur from many conditions such as foreign body ingestion and obstruction, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I am concerned that he could be showing signs of an obstruction which is something that requires therapy which sometimes includes surgery. I recommend that you have Jager evaluated by a veterinarian at this point for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. No do not make him vomit. The sharp pieces can do damage coming back up, as well as you can get esophageal irritation if you use hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. I recommend feeding moistened kibble to help surround the pieces so hopefully they will pass without causing a problem. This can be serious though so if there is discomfort, no poop, or not eating I recommend taking an X-ray tomorrow see where the pieces are in the intestinal tract. If Jose is not painful they can take a series of X-rays over time to see if the pieces are moving. If they get stuck in one place then surgical removal will be needed.
