My dog ate a pepperoni wrapper. Is this something to worry about?

Hi, if the wrapper has been thorn into pieces it will probably pass through his gastro intestinal tract together with other food. If it was a large piece swollowed as whole, there is the risk of obstruction and you need to monitor him closely for any vomiting or diarrhoea or straining to go to the toilet or abdominal pain. That's what we are all here for :-) Other than the potential this wrapper could cause an obstruction in Stella, there's not much to worry about if there wasn't a lot of cream cheese wrapper on it. A lot of cream cheese could cause pancreatitis, but if there was only a little on the wrapper, it's quite unlikely to cause it. Half a wrapper isn't a huge foreign body, so it this will likely pass without problem. You can monitor Stella for signs of obstruction, which include vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, lethargy, and constipation. If you see any of those signs, I would take her into the vet immediately. It can take up to 72 hours for the wrapper to pass. Hopefully, however, Stella will be just fine.

A small amount of ketchup shouldn't harm her at all :) If she consumed the entire packet, including the packaging, there is a small chance that this could cause an intestinal obstruction but usually things like this pass through with no problems. As long as she is eating and drinking, acting normal, and not vomiting, I wouldn't worry. The packet will probably pass through her system and be passed in her stool within the next 2-3 days.

Most likely Jax will defecate out the wrapper. However, I agree you should monitor for an obstruction. I would recommend monitoring Jax at home but if at any time he is not eating, vomiting or acting lethargic I would take him to the vet for an x-ray of his abdomen.

It depends! Some dogs will do fine, others won't. If there is a vet close, I would recommend inducing vomiting in a vet clinic because if it comes up, then there is nothing to worry about! If not, then watch closely over then next 1-2 weeks for signs of obstruction, including decreased appetite, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, etc.
