My dog ate a Milky Way bar and is feeling unwell. What to do?

He probably has an upset stomach from eating the candy bar. Monitor him for vomiting, diarrhea, etc. and have him examined by a vet if you notice anything abnormal. Your vet can prescribe medications to help.

It could be the M&Ms have upset Tyson's stomach. I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Fortunately, there is very little actual chocolate in a Kit Kat bar - not nearly enough to cause any toxicity issues, even in a fairly small dog like Kimbo. He may have some mild stomach upset if he isn't used to eating "human food" like this, but otherwise should be just fine :)

Both candies contain chocolate, but not that much and Jim is a big dog so I am not expecting Chocolate toxicity in his case but it could cause vomiting, diarrhea and constipation, you will need to keep an eye on his stools in the next few days.

That's a fair amount of chocolate, and if any of those chocolates were dark chocolate, that is very concerning. Dark chocolate is the most toxic type, and takes the least amount to cause toxicity. I would take your dog into a vet immediately, as they can give her a shot to induce vomiting. They can also give her activated charcoal. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

You can expect mild gastrointestinal upset (vomiting, diarrhea or decreased appetite). The amount is not enough to cause serious toxicity in a 15lb dog, but you should still monitor for tremors, increased heart rate, hyperactivity or seizures. Minor GI upset can usually be managed at home with a 24 hour fast followed by a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Ideally, Mojito should be examined by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER. Either can induce vomiting if the ingestion has happened in the last two hours, then administer activated charcoal to further inhibit absorption.

There is not enough chocolate in a fun size Butterfinger to cause any toxicity issues, so I wouldn't worry :) Milo may have a mild upset stomach if he isn't used to eating "people food" like this, but otherwise he should be just fine. I would not recommend trying to induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide in this case, as there are some risks to doing this (severe gastric irritation, possible aspiration pneumonia, etc.) and there should be no need to make him vomit.
