Dog ate meth, showing symptoms. Can I help him at home without a vet?

my boyfriend has this friend who comes over every now and then and he uses meth he knows we dont aprove and cant bring it to our home. he was over today and im pretty sure that he was on something. idk what happened but i think my dog either ingested some of his drugs i looked up symptims on line and he is showing some of them. he is a two year old lahsaopso i dont have any money to take him to a vet is there any thing i can do at home to help get it out of his system asap. im so scared for h

If Dado ingested drugs such as meth, this is medical emergency and there is nothing you can do at home. Amphetamines are very toxic to dogs, and he needs veterinary care now. It can be fatal without treatment. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website.

God's Creatures Ministry helps pay for veterinarian bills for those who need help.

The Onyx & Breezy Foundation has many programs including helping people with medical bills. They are a good resource for information.

Brown Dog Foundation provides funding to families with a sick pet that would likely respond to treatment, but due to circumstances, there is not enough money immediately available to pay.
IMOM is dedicated to insure that no companion animal has to be euthanized simply because their caretaker is financially challenged.

Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Take your dog to your veterinarian or a 24-hour emergency veterinary clinic immediately! This is an emergency! Amphetamine poisoning in dogs affects the central nervous system, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and respiratory systems. Clinical signs may include agitation, dilated pupils, tremors, seizures, elevated heart rate, high blood pressure, panting, drooling, vomiting, and diarrhea. Aggressive treatment, including decontamination (if appropriate), IV fluids, sedation, thermoregulation (and cooling measures, if needed), electrocardiogram/blood pressure monitoring, and symptomatic/supportive care, is recommended.

My dog ate meth or coke. Should I worry if there are no symptoms?
If Noelani had ingested either meth or coke this morning, I would certainly have expected signs to develop by now (8 hours later). If the bag was well sealed and ingested whole, it may pass in her GI tract without her absorbing anything, but it is always safest to have her examined. We commonly see significant excitation with these drugs which can progress to heart or nervous system problems including seizures. If Noelani starts developing any signs of hyperexcitability, I would recommend having her seen by a veterinarian immediately. Depending on how many they ate your dogs may do fine, may have excessive sedation or may have neurological side effects. As they cannot be examined by a veterinarian there's nothing at home you can do to prevent any side effects, if they are going to have any.
