My dog ate normally yesterday except she had ham. Today she’s throwing up, is weak, has a decreased appetite, and is out of it. Could she have food poisoning? If so what do I do?

I'm sorry to hear that Sadie isn't feeling well. I agree with Dr. Melanie that pancreatitis is a very real possibility, given Sadie's vomiting, soft stool and coconut oil ingestion. The severity of signs with pancreatitis can vary pretty widely. Other possible causes could include a gastrointestinal virus, foreign body obstruction (blockage), parasites, stomach upset from different foods, among many other possible causes. Without knowing the cause of her vomiting and soft stool, it's difficult to determine the best course of action. At this point, if Sadie is still eating, drinking and acting normally, you can try to offer her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days before gradually mixing in her normal food. However, if she's a bit lethargic or not eating and drinking normally, it would be best to take her to the vet for further evaluation. Your vet will be able to examine her and perform any necessary diagnostic testing to get to the bottom of this problem. I hope that Sadie feels better soon!
