My dog ate a foreign object, stomach bloated. Is it serious?

It definitely does look bloated. It could be from eating a large meal or from intestinal parasites (worms). I would have your vet take a look a him. They will likely want to do a fecal on him to check for worms and if needed, they will deworm him. I hope this helps!

As long as she is acting ok you could monitor her for additional signs. If she starts retching, seems uncomfortable, starts drooling, is painful, or the distension persists then she should be examined by a vet. Your vet can take an X-ray to evaluate her abdomen and determine the exact cause of her problem.

Sheena should be evaluated by a veterinarian right away! If her belly is swollen she could be suffering from bloat (stomach full of air), a GDV (where the stomach bloats and turns on itself) or she could have fluid in her belly or uterus (pyometra). Hello! This is what we call "food bloat" which happens when dogs manage to eat a massive amount of food! Their stomachs stretch with the huge amount of food, causing the bloated bellies. When people bring these pets to me, we usually recommend putting them on IV fluids until the bloating resolves, and not feeding at all. Their stomachs could potentially rupture, when the kibbles swell, and mix with water. So, at this point, I wouldn't suggest feeding them. Ideally they should be checked by their vet, to see if they are okay recovering at home, or whether they need treatment at the clinic.

The jerky could certainly have upset her stomach. Generally, it's ok to wait for 24 hours before going in, so if she's resting normally, moving around, and eating/drinking I think it's ok to wait until tomorrow and then go to the vet for an x-ray, maybe bloodwork, and supportive care.

If there is any abdominal enlargement or pain he needs to be assessed by a vet as an emergency - non-productive/white foamy vomit is very concerning in a dog which is eating as it can indicate an obstruction. A pancreatitis blood test may also be required depending on the results of the physical exam

Oh no, poor Goober! If he had bloat, his entire abdomen would be swollen, he would be restless, anxious, unproductive vomiting, and would be looking at his abdomen a lot. I would suspect that he may have an umbilical hernia, which is not a medical emergency. At this point in time, given that he is drinking and eating with no problems, he's calm, and he's not vomiting, there's no need to rush him into the vet. Waiting until Monday will be fine. If you do see any of the signs of bloat that I mentioned above, then yes you need to rush him into a vet right away. I hope this helps!
