My dog ate two bananas. Is he okay? What symptoms should I watch for?

At worst, you may see some mild stomach upset (vomiting or diarrhea). This can typically be managed at home with a short fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve.

Poor guy. He likely has a bit of an upset stomach. I am not sure what ingredients were in the banana bread, but there likely wasn't enough to cause any toxicity concerns. The drooling is a sign of nausea, poor guy. Try feeding him a bland diet today and tomorrow of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese. Then continue to monitor him for any vomiting or refusal to eat his food or diarrhea. If he doesn't seem better by tomorrow, then it is a good idea to have him seen by your vet for anti-nausea medication and supportive care, but he likely will improve by tomorrow. Bananas are ok for dogs to eat, not sure the banana peel will be easy to digest though. Keep an eye on Jax to make sure he doesn't stop eating or develop a stomach ache. Jax should be fine if he chewed up the banana peel, if not he could develop an intestinal obstruction. As long as he's eating, drinking and pooping normally there is nothing to be worried about. If he should start vomiting, not eating or straining to poop then please take him in right away for an exam and X-ray. Hi there! Nova should be fine! Bananas are a human food that is fine for her to eat if you want to offer it to her as treat sometime. A little bit of mango is ok, but it's not a food I would recommend offer to her. She may have a little bit of an upset tummy, due to ingesting a new food so don't be surprised if she has a bit of soft stool or diarrhea in the next couple of days. I hope this helps a bit!

Dogs can be pretty sneaky sometimes! Lucy should be ok, but you may see some GI upset. If you do see GI upset in the form of vomiting and diarrhea, I would have her seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

I don't see any ingredients that are toxic, but the sugar can cause some GI upset. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or a loss of appetite, have them seen by a vet. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Cassidy. If the chips were dark chocolate this is more worrisome, but 2-3 milk chocolate chips should not be problematic. I worry about the bread itself being potentially high in sugar or fat. This can cause significant gastrointestinal upset or even pancreatitis. Signs of chocolate toxicity are typically agitation, muscle tremors and vomiting/diarrhea. I would contact your veterinarian when they open, seeing as they know Cassidy's full medical history. They will tell you if he needs to come in or of he can be monitored at home. Good luck!
