My dog is licking, whining, has red eyes. Is it an allergic reaction?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 11 years and 1 month old | 95 lbs

is my dog ok? he won't stop licking his arms and legs and he's whining and pawing at me and his eyes and nose are red i feel so bad i had trouble getting him to come downstairs earlier his poop looked normal i gave him some water and mixed a little p- butter with some purina dog food which he ate half of. but i'm worried. we got downstairs finally. 8y pit bull who was recently bit by another dog, he did get it drained and stitched and is healed now

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your question about Tama. I would be concerned he is suffering an allergic reaction given that his eyes and nose are red, and he licking his legs. It could also be that he has hurt himself. I would have him seen by a vet for this problem. Give his vet a call now to see when you can get him an appointment. In case he is suffering from allergies, give him an oatmeal bath now if you can't get him into the vet. This may help temporarily soothe his symptoms. If his face starts swelling and/or he starts having trouble breathing, you will need to take him into a vet immediately. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
