Why is my dog agitated, restless, and avoiding walks and other dogs?

Sasha is so cute, but I'm sorry she's doing poorly! If she is limping, she is breathing heavily, trembling, and panting a lot, this can be a sign she is in pain. This would explain why she couldn't even go up the the stairs. If she's finally laying down and isn't showing any of this signs you described in your post, I would keep an eye on her for now and make an appointment for her with the vet in the morning. Now if these symptoms you are describing are continuing, then I think having her seen by a vet now would be best. In this case, please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. This does sound like strange behavior but if Sasha is otherwise acting normal I would not worry to much about it. She may be just enjoying the changing of the seasons or, due to her age, she may not be able to walk around as much due to arthritis. I'm not sure how old Daisy is, but she could be suffering from arthritis, may have degenerative joint disease, or could have injured herself. It is concerning that she is having trouble walking, and that indicates she could be in a lot of pain. Given those symptoms, I feel it's best to have her seen by a vet today. The vet can diagnose what is causing her trouble walking, and can treat it while also giving her some pain medications. Please do not give Daisy any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given.

Any abrupt change in demeanor or behavior should be checked by a vet as soon as possible. Sometimes this is the only way our pets can tell us something is wrong. Hiding and not wanting to be touched can indicate pain or discomfort. She could have a hidden injury you weren't aware of, she could have an infection of some kind, eaten something that didn't agree with her, there are a number of possibilities. Your vet will do an exam, labwork and probably x-rays and based on these results will be better able to tell you what is wrong and how best to treat it.

Poor LouLou! It sounds like she has developed some anxiety over something or could be painful somewhere and unable to tell you. You could try some Benadryl to see if this helps calm her. You could also try a calming collar like adaptil. It may or may not help. If this doesn't work or she gets worse, I would strongly recommend to have your vet look at her to ensure she isn't painful anywhere. Shat a handsome boy! Usually lipomas do not cause pain so they should not be the reason he doesn't want to go outside. He may be painful or was scared by something outside. I recommend putting him on a short leash and having a treat to lure him outside. Take him for a short walk in the backyard only to start, come in and praise him and reward him again. That should help build his confidence and see if its due to anxiety or pain. Some dogs who hurt don't want to walk like they used to due to discomfort. Often they will be stiff rising, want to go, but only go for a short way before stopping. What you are describing does sound like more like anxiety than pain. You can add the supplement Solliquin which is for anxiety or there are other brands of calming supplements sold at PetCo. You may also want to try having a dog he likes come along when you are taking him out since he may want to walk again if he has a relaxed companion going along with him. I haven't found deafness alone to cause these symptoms. I veterinary exam is always a good idea also, and they may want to do a trial of pain medication to see if that helps the situation.
