Why is my dog aggressive to other dogs and farm animals?

I do not think it is anything you are specifically doing wrong. As dogs age they can have a change in personality but it is important to start training to turn this behavior around. IT sounds like she is scared and having some anxiety. I would recommend starting with basic commands like sit, stay and come. I also would recommend getting her in training classes so you can start to redirect her behavior. Once she starts feeling more confident it most likely will help with her behavior around other dogs. i hope that helps

Getting her spayed would be the best option. She is still young enough it may help her behavior and it will help with other health problems in the future also. If this does not help then you can try a trainer. If it is anxiety induced then they have medicine to help with that

One thing you should do initially is take her to your veterinarian and let them make sure that she is healthy and that nothing appears wrong medically. Pain, etc can bring about aggression and irritability problems. Once the medical check is cleared, then you can discuss with your vet exactly what is going on behaviorally. Your veterinarian may want to refer you to a certified trainer or animal behaviorist to try to sort out what is triggering the aggression. I see she is spayed so we can rule out irritability/aggression associated with her heat cycles. I wish you the best of luck with little cutie Mylah.

Hi Aaron, I hope I can help you with Taz! I would recommend first neutering him, and then having him seen by a professional behavioral expert. Aggression in dogs can be hormonally related, and having his testicles removed can help reduce that aggression. Having him seen by a professional behavioral experts is also important. Working with aggressive dogs can be dangerous, and I never recommend owners do it on their own. That is a situation that is best left to an expert. I would speak to your vet about a referral to a professional behavior to work with your family and Taz. Hope this helps :-)

These types of behavior can improve though this does require in person training with the help of a qualified dog trainer. I would encourage you to contact a dog trainer that can work with you and Tova in person to really take care of this behavior. Best bet here is to consult with your local veterinarian on a plan to help alleviate the problem through behavioral modification and medical management through neutering. This behavior can be hard to correct especially since she is an adult. I would talk to your vet about getting her started on an anti-anxiety medicine like fluoxetine or trazadone. These will help to calm her nerves, but you will also need to start a training program. This would be best started with an behaviorist or dog trainer. This will be a long road and unfortunately, there is no easy fix. I hope this helps and she starts to improve.
