What are these dark brown spots on my dog's tail that I can squeeze?

Those black spots look like comedones (aka: blackheads). I suggest you use this shampoo that contains benzoyl peroxide. Lather the affected areas (no need to do the whole dog), let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then rinse throughly. Do this every 2-3 days until they are gone. Hi there. It could be a couple of things causing the spots on Harley's belly. Some dogs with get mild bacterial skin infections that can cause blackheads. This can usually be managed with medicated shampoo. It could also be some discoloration due to another skin disease that causes changes in the pigment. I recommend to have Yogi examined by the veterinarian. Sometimes lesions like this are hormonal, endocrine or allergy related. Those are likely blocked pores you are squeezing. Which I recommend to stop as those could become infected. I hope this helps.

Dogs can get blocked pores and blackheads, or what we medically call comedones These typically can be treated with a benzoyl peroxide based shampoo (i.e. Duoxo shampoos). In most situations these are benign, but it is always a good idea to have your vet do a general health exam on your pet to ensure no other underlying disease processes are occurring as well. Pets with hypothyroidism can be prone to this condition. Your vet can also provide an appropriate shampoo to help keep pores healthy. Adding an omega 3 fatty acid for pets can also help improve skin health. Best of luck.

From your picture, it looks to me like comedones or otherwise known as blackheads which occur when the hair follicle becomes clogged. Usually these can be treated with certain medicated shampoos that contain benzoyl peroxide in them to help flush out the follicle. Be sure to purchase these shampoos from your veterinarian as dogs can be especially sensitive to human shampoos and other human hygiene products. I hope this helps!

Hello. These look like comedones, similar to black heads in people. Do not squeeze as this could cause an infection. Try & locate a benzoyl peroxide based shampoo ( pet or human ) & gently wash the area. Try to leave the shapoo on for 5-10 minutes & do not let Simba lick the soap. Rinse & dry him.
