Why is my old Dachshund suddenly slow, wobbly, sleepy, and not eating?

That is concerning. Dachshunds are prone to having discs come out of place in their back and press on the spinal cord, leading to weakness or paralysis. I would recommend taking her to the vet in the next day or two to be checked out, and try to prevent her from going running or jumping in the mean time.

It could still be pain associated with a leg even if nothing seems wrong with them. I recommend that you have Sausage evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics include radiographs. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least they can prescribe pain control medications to make Sausage feel better. Oh no, poor Matilda! Unfortunately Dachshunds are very prone to spinal problems, and she could be in pain from his spine causing her symptoms. I would not give her pain medications from her last visit, as they may not be appropriate to give in this case. I would have her seen by a vet immediately for a physical exam and x-rays. The vet can diagnose what is causing her pain so she can be treated.

I’m sorry to hear Tootsie’s leg is bothering her. Common problems affecting the back leg are knee cap problems and ACL injuries, of course there are many other possibilities as well. I am pretty worried about the Rimadyl dosing however. You stats she is a 25 pound dog and you are giving 75 mg twice a day? That is about 3 times her calculated dose. I would recommend discontinuing the medication at this time to avoid serious injury to her gastrointestinal tract. I would also encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian soon. It definitely sounds like Lola is having a hard time getting around. This can be a common change in dogs that have arthritis, but the sudden onset has me concerned that something more serious could be going on. Possibilities include meningitis, intervertebral disc protrusion or rupture, muscle spasm, among many other things. Lola needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible for a full physical exam. The vet will pay particular location to muscles, the back and may do a neurologic exam to assess for any deficiencies. Bloodwork may be recommended to screen for internal causes of sudden pain, such as infection or kidney disease. Based on diagnostic results, your vet will be able to prescribe appropriate pain medications. Unfortunately there are no over the counter pain medications that are safe for Lola. You can try to raise her food and water bowls up to a more comfortable level, and have plenty of soft bedding for her to lay on on the floor.

Poor Lucy! This could be a few different things. The most common things would be geriatric vestibular disease, an inner ear infection, a cerebral vascular accident (stroke), or a brain tumor. A lot of times it is geriatric vestibular disease which is a disorder they get when they get older that causes imbalance, but it improves with time. Unfortunately, they usually need supportive care to prevent dehydration. If she were mine, I would take her to your vet for an exam. Your vet may want to run some blood work to ensure her organs look okay and there is no toxins involved. Your vet will likely recommend supportive care and possibly antibiotics or steroids to cover all the possible problems. They may want to keep her there to watch her closely.
