Is a white patch on my chocolate Lab's tail a sign of mixed breed?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | 3 months and 2 days old | 18 lbs

I have a Labrador not sure if she’s mix or not but I noticed that on her tail under her coat she has a white color and she’s a chocolate color . My question is does that have to do with anything if she’s full or mix ?

It's not uncommon to find a patch of different colour. Technically yellow, black and brown labradors are the same breed, coat colour is determined at a genetic level. If you think she may have another breed in her, you can get DNA testing kits on line which yiubsend off to a lab and they tell you the exact make up of the dog.
