My chihuahua ate a large dog's bladder control chewable. Is it safe?

I'm very concerned that Sony could become markedly hypotensive (very low blood pressure) after taking these pills. Given that he is a chihuahua, the mg/kg dose that he ingested is most likely a VERY large overdose and could be fatal. I recommend attempting to make him vomit as soon as possible by administering hydrogen peroxide to him orally. You may give him a teaspoon (you may have to use a turkey baster to help get it in his mouth) to try to make him vomit. If he does not vomit after 10 minutes, you may try giving him another teaspoon. Ultimately if this is unsuccessful, I recommend bringing him to your nearest emergency veterinarian as soon as possible. That way, a veterinarian can use medication that is injectable to induce vomiting. He/she can also administer medications to try to reduce absorption of this medication and prevent it from having its dangerous effects. Again, I am very concerned about Sony. I hope this is helpful.

An immediate check up at your local veterinarian is required as this drug could cause toxic side effects. The signs you are describing are compatible with urinary tract infection/inflammation and Piper should be investigated and treated for it, starting from urine analysis and possibly an ultrasound of the bladder. I'm sorry to hear that! We would love to help; however I cannot find any medication with the name Epalit. Is there a way you can verify the name of the medication that she got into? I'm not sure if there was a typo perhaps? Also, please let us know the milligrams of the mediation and about how many there were. We can better advise you then! The other option would be for you to call the ASPCA poison control center with that information. They will be able to give you a very clear, very definitive knowledge of whether or not this is problematic, what to expect, and whether or not to go to the vet. There is a $65 charge, but their information is extremely valuable and we, as veterinarians, use their toxicologists advice and knowledge on these cases all the time. Since its been 12 hours, there's really not going to be a benefit to inducing vomiting, as the pills would have already gone through her stomach. Most toxicities will lead to clinical signs in the first 24 hours, but some substances can take up to a few days to see signs. If she starts to have any vomiting, diarrhea, tremoring, seizures, changes in her breathing, lethargy, or won't eat take her in to your vet. I hope thats helpful for you! It depends on the quantity ingested. That could eventually caused gastrointestinal inflammation (resulting in vomiting and diarrhoea) or gastrointestinal obstruction. Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach, If the ingestion was recent (in the last hour) then you can take PeeWee to a clinic to induce vomiting to try to get it out. Otherwise just monitor. It should be ok but you might see vomiting, diarrhea, GI upset overall. Any other abnormal activity then get PeeWee to a vet right away for supportive care. Hello. I am more concerned about the glucosamine content of these chews. Very large doses have been associated with acute liver injury, so if Layla ingested the chews in the past 2 hours, you should get her to an emergency vet for decontamination & possibly started on IV fluids to minimize possible damage. If the chews were ingested more than 2 hours ago, you should still see a veterinarian where activated charcoal may be administered to try & minimize absorption of the glucosamine & to have her liver values monitored over the next few days.
