Why is my bulldog scooting, scratching, and getting muzzle blisters?

Those spots on Koby could be several things including fleas, allergies, skin mites, bacterial infection, ringworm (which humans can get) or endocrine disease. There are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesions once a day (not his whole body, just the lesions). Also protect the area from trauma by having your pup wear an elizabethan collar at all times. Mr. Brown may be having the skin issues due to ringworm, skin mites or allergies. Allergy testing can be complicated and expensive, ruling out food allergies is certainly easier by using a hydrolyzed diet. Diagnosing ringworm and skin mites is very easy. I recommend to have him examined by his veterinarian and at least rule out the easy things that may spread to the other dogs. At least then you can start treatment and decontamination if needed. Things you can do to improve skin health in general include changing the diet to something that is aimed at tskin health such as Nutro or Royal Canin. Have him seen by your veterinarian. The most common, and easiest to treat, cause is full or impacted anal glands. Normally, the anal glands are emptied during the act of defecation. In some dogs, this doesn't happen and the glands fill up, become impacted and could abscess. This would result in the symptoms described. Your veterinarian can Express the glands manually, flush them and instill medication if necessary. Antibiotics and pain medications are also sometimes dispensed. If Scooby is licking back there, place an e-collar (cone) on him until he sees the doctor.

Oh Bruno is a handsome guy! Unfortunately, bulldogs are very prone to skin allergies and secondary yeast and bacterial infections, as well as fold dermatitis (in the facial and tail folds). I love to use Malaket wipes in all folds once daily. If that is not solving the problem, talk with your vet about allergy treatments. HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! English Bull dogs are prone to allergies (food and environment), skin infections, demodex, and immune conditions. I would have the bumps checked to see if they are from a skin infection from yeast and/or bacteria. I would put Henry on Bravecto or Nexgard to cover for demodex. Since he is older I would have full blood work done, including a thyroid profile. If the skin doesn't improve on therapy in 3 weeks have some of the lesions biopsied to make sure it isn't skin cancer. Especially if skin problems are abnormal for him. If the lesions are more bumps than flat hairless areas and aren't consistent with a skin infection I would jump to the biopsy sooner. I hope this helps and I wish Henry a speedy recovery!
