There are some dogs that love to chew on wood. It isn't ideal, but it can be a very hard habit to break. I recommend providing alternative toys to chew on, but if that doesn't work you might consider collecting branches for them to chew, which is better than furniture. Make sure they are getting plenty of exercise, as bored dogs tend to be destructive. As far as eating their own feces, yes you need to pick it up right away. You can use the product Forbid in their food. First pick up all of the poop. Then put the Forbid in their food and let them poop in the yard and let them eat the poop. It makes the poop taste terrible and usually will stop them from doing this. You can purchase it at PetCo. Also cleaning up immediately when they go will reduce the availability of poop. I'm sorry to hear that! There are a few things you can do: Keep Bentley on leashed walks only when outside to keep him from getting into garbage or pet waste. Working on commands such as "leave it" or trading for a high value treat can redirect his attention back to you and away from the waste. If he's eating his own, making sure to pick up any stool ASAP (both indoors on doggy pads and outdoors in your yards or walks) can prevent him from getting access to those items. If he's going for litter boxes, moving litter boxes to rooms that you can block off with a baby gate that your cat can jump over but Bentley can't, or using a cat door with an RF chip to allow only your cat access can help prevent him from getting to the area to munch. You can also try products such as For-bid which can be added to the food of whomever's waste is being eaten to make it unpalatable. However, the best treatment is preventing Bentley from getting to the waste at all.

There are a couple of approaches you can take to stop Bruno from eating his bed. One, you can supply him with more chew type toys. This will allow him to take out his chewing instincts safely, as well as preventing boredom. You can train him to not chew his bed. Every time Bruno starts doing this, you can get his attention by making a loud noise, and then giving him a chew toy to chew on instead. Praise him when he stops chewing on the bed and starts chewing on the toy so that he learns it's good for him to chew on the toy. There are chew deterrents you can spray on his bed, which you can get from a pet store. Finally, give him plenty of exercise so that when it's time to lie down on his bed, he will simply want to sleep.

Rewardpost-eliminationbehavior • Positive reinforcement immediately after good behavior (so owner must be present). Keep the dog on leash, and if the dog does not go for its feces, reward it with food and praise. Also, if the dog does try to reach for its feces, divert its attention to another simple task (such as asking to “sit” or “shake paw”) and reward it for performing the task.
