Is Beaphar salmon oil good for dogs? What's the best brand for them?

All the brands should contain the same single ingredient: salmon oil. I would recommend getting one, using it for 6 weeks, and then re-evaluate if it is having the change you are wanting to see. A side effect of salmon oil is loose or greasy stools, which can be limited by using less salmon oil.

Essential Fatty Acids are always a good idea in my opinion since they are part of every living cell of the body and they are anti inflammatory. I don't know of any diseases where fish oil is not recommended. One thing you want to be careful of is the quality of the oil and whether contaminants (mercury, etc) are present. Supplements are not regulated (in the United States) so the quality varies significantly. I would choose my source of fish oil carefully and follow the directions based on body weight. I love Nordic Naturals and I always recommend using a veterinary product when available. They do tests to make sure you are giving the right amount for your dogs size. That's because they will be easy to hide in some peanut butter or meat to give your dog. The liquid fish oil should be added to your dog's food, and if he doesn't like the taste, he won't eat the food. But if you think he will eat the food with the liquid fish oil on it, you can use the RX vitamins. I think both look good personally.
