Is my Beagle's tan coat fading to cream or white on her head normal?

That could be due to a skin infection or possibly just a normal pigmentation change. I would recommend that if this continues, you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. I'm not really sure what is going on with him but hair coats can and do change over time in dogs and cats. I don't think this has to do with any premature aging as you hinted to. I would just continue to monitor this and if it spreads or worsens, have your veterinarian evaluate him. Your vet can gather a history and perform an examination to look for causes of this. But honestly, I think this is just a small area of coat color change. Good luck

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Many dogs normally have darker pigmented areas of skin under their fur. In some dogs, this does pigment can increase with age. It is impossible to tell only from a photograph however if this is normal pigment. She would need to be assessed by a veterinarian with a physical exam to determine if there is cause for concern.

It isn't abnormal for the puppy pink skin to darkened in these area to a uniform greyish brown color. the skin should still be soft and not "elephant" like which indicates excessive licking. What a handsome fella. : ) The haircoat can change color as its exposed to the sun, so this would be my first suspicion. However, if you are seeing any brown stained areas, then this is due to excessive licking, which usually indicates an allergy or OCD licking behavior.
