When can I bathe my 10-week-old French Bulldog puppy & what shampoo?

From that picture, nothing appears abnormal. The dark spots may be the natural pigment changes in his skin and it is just easy to see through the white fur. At 3 months, most shampoos are safe and you can give him a bath any time now, generally not more than weekly though.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! At 14 weeks of age Hamilton should be almost finished his puppy vaccine series. At 14 weeks of age, if he has never had vaccines, he would need two DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvo and parainfluenza) vaccines 3-4 weeks apart. The 2nd DHPP is good for 1 year. He can also receive the rabies vaccine. You should bring a stool sample and be sure he gets dewormed. He should be started on heartworm prevention and flea and tick medications. He doesn't need to be bathed often unless he smells or is dirty. Once a month is probably fine. I like a moisturizing oatmeal based shampoo (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=19244). I like Purina Proplan puppy, Hill's Science diet and Royal canin brands. Aw Snoopy is adorable! Yes you can bathe him but I would use something very gentle like a puppy shampoo. I do not recommend using a flea shampoo as these can sometimes be too strong for puppies. You can bathe him every 2-3 weeks unless he gets really muddy/stinky and needs a bath otherwise. I hope this helps!

8 weeks old is the minimum age to begin bathing a puppy. Use a pet approved shampoo for puppies sensitive skin. She can be bathed every 6-8 weeks. You can use plain, unscented baby wipes or pet wipes to spot clean her in between baths. If you bathe her at night, dry her thoroughly and keep her war to prevent chill. It is best to bath her early in the day so she has ample time to dry off and doesn't go to sleep damp.

Hello, yes it is ok to bathe your puppy however, please use warm water and make sure she is thoroughly dry after her bath. Some flea shampoos may be ok for puppies this young, you should find the recommended age for the shampoo you are trying to use on the bottle itself. Most often, if you puppy has fleas, it is most safe to bathe with plain water and shampoo. Most of the time, you won't need flea shampoo. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I typically recommend bathing no more than once every week or every 2 weeks unless there is a skin condition requiring frequent medicated baths. If Luna’s skin is not becoming dried out or irritated the frequency of bathing and the type of shampoo you are using is probably fine. If Luna is itchy, her skin is red or flakey, or if she has an unusual odor, she may have a skin condition. If this is the case she needs to have an examination done by your veterinarian to address her skin issues. Pavi can have a bath at any time and you should use a dog shampoo. Just make sure the water is a comfortable temperature, avoid getting water in her face, and dry her well and keep her warm after the bath.
