First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment (advocate or advantage), then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics). Hi, thanks for using Petcoach! Poor Catfish (great name!) There could be a couple of things that are causing multiple bumps under the skin. Pit bulls have sensitive skin so it could be a skin infection or even hives from an allergic reaction. You can try Benadryl 25mg tablets 2 every 8 hours and a medicated shampoo. But if things get worse or the bumps don't resolve I recommend seeing your Vet. He may need steroids or an antibiotic. Below is a link of a shampoo I like. However, it also looks to me that it could be a result of a bacterial infection, mite infection or even a flea allergy. The best thing to do would be to take JR to a veterinarian so that they can do a skin scrape and cytology to see what it going on. That way JR can be prescribed antibiotics or other medication if necessary.

However, this depends if they truly are due to an infection and the extent of it. For that reason, I highly recommend you check in with your veterinarian for a physical exam prior to starting any therapies.
