Why did my 10-month-old American Bully puppy stop eating breakfast?

It could be that Bruno is still full from dinner the night before, leading him to not want to eat all of his breakfast. It could also be that you are giving him too much food in the morning and night, causing him to eat less in the morning. Given that he is eating consistently, seems normal, has energy, and poops normally, I would not be too concerned about this. Try giving him a bit less in the morning to see if he eats it all. If Teddy is still acting completely normal, eating his regular amount and maintaining his weight, I wouldn't worry too much. Some dogs will prefer to only eat once a day and do just fine. The 9 to 12 month range is when I normally recommend transitioning to an adult food, so you could start doing that and see if he wants to eat once or twice a day. If he starts losing weight, doesn't have the energy he used to have, or develops vomiting or diarrhea, I would be concerned there is something more serious going on and would have him examined by your veterinarian.

I wouldn't cut back Shelby's food just yet. A sudden change in appetite can be a sign of a medical issue, so I would schedule her a health check with the vet first to make sure everything is ok. She is beautiful, by the way!

At this age it is expected for your puppy to eat less. Usually between 6-8 months of age puppies have less calorie requirement and will go from needing three meals daily to two meals daily. Bully is still a puppy and should be eating at least twice a day at this age, around 3-4 cups daily of a high quality puppy food like Hills Science diet, Wellness, Natural Balance, Evo, or Eukanuba. If after 1-3 months he still is not gaining weight, or if he has abnormal consistency to his stool at any point, then he needs to see your local vet to explore other possible causes to him being underweight besides malnutrition, such as intestinal parasites, an underlying malabsorption disorder or even exocrine pancreatic insufficiency just to name a few. Intestinal parasites is still a possibility if he has not have a proper fecal exam, because there are many parasite possibilities and not every dewormer will kill all the possible worms out there. As your puppy gets older he will need to eat less frequently so this type of behavior is normal. As long as Mokibis continuing to grow and put on weight like a puppy should I would not be too concerned.

Great questions! Take a look at the bag of food that you are giving Roxy and determine how much she should be eating given her age and current body weight. Using that volume, divide it into 2 meals for the morning and 6pm "first dinner". Save whatever she doesn't finish in the morning and offer it at her 9pm "second dinner". Try not to leave out too many biscuits during the day, even if she isn't eating them currently. As she gets older, biscuit and table scrap ingestion can be some of the leading causes of obesity. Some dogs prefer not eating much in the morning - this is still normal. :-)
