Is 3-5ml of Albomar safe for my 2-month-old puppy? Any side effects?

This is a dewormer labeled safe to use in dogs and cats. The salt in it is simply the vehicle the drug uses to allow it to be metabolized in the body. Therefore other salts can’t be compared to this one because they too are specially formulated for that particular drug to allow it to be metabolized. Albomar treats for several different intestinal parasites including roundworms, hookworms, and flukes. It is a standard dewormer and is just as effective as others on the market. Cement is too young to have that product now, and albomar won't be effective for fleas (which can transmit tapeworm!). I would recommend to apply another product like Stronghold kittens for example (it will treat both). Ask your local veterinarian for a prescription. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! In the US we do not use Albendazole in dogs or cats. If Oscar only weighs 5.5 lbs and if he was given 5mls that is 200mg of albendazole and at that dose it has been reported to cause mental dullness and decreased appetite in cats. It can also affect white and red blood cells. I don't have much information about overdoses in dogs. Stop giving him the medication. The dose of ivermectin should be ok. If he gets worse or doesn't improve he should be taken to an emergency hospital. Good luck!

This is correct. That medication has a very wide dosing range and it is very safe. Resistance to this medications is starting to becoming a problem so we have started to use the higher end of the dose range.

Yes. Any deworming medication has the potential to cause side effects in your puppy or dog. Common side effects from tablets or liquids given to treat gastrointestinal worms include loss of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. Some medications, like Ivermectin, should not be administered to particular breeds of dogs. For instance collie breeds experience seizures, muscle twitching, and hypersalivation when treated with Ivermectin. Other deworming medications should not be given to pregnant or lactating dogs or puppies under certain ages. The safest and most effective deworming medications, or wormers, come from your vet or can be obtained with a prescription for your pooch.

Drontal is a very safe deworming tablet, so I would give Tofy one table. Doses of up to 10 times the recommended dose will usually only cause some nausea, so giving her a little bit extra will not likely result in any harm. I hope this helps!
