You can't do anything to make sure he sleeps, as his own body rhythms will dictate that. You can keep him safe, and out of trouble during the night, by putting him in a crate at bedtime. Introduce him to it gradually. First, put his food right inside the door so he learns to eat there. Step-by-step, move the bowl farther into the crate each time he eats, leaving the door open. When he is comfortable eating inside, close the door, opening it as soon as he finishes eating. Gradually extend the time the door is closed. Do not oen the door if he is whining or trying to get out. Just ignore him, and wait until he is settled before letting him out. I'm going to give you a link with details on how to crate train a puppy, but I do not recommend leaving food and water in his crate overnight. This will make him have to go out to the bathroom more overnight, and since you will have to get up twice to take Cooper to potty every 2.5 to 3 hours, you don't want to have to deal with additional times to take him out or messes to clean up. This can be both frustrating and exhausting! I'm glad to hear that Lou is able to relax and sleep if you are nearby. Consider giving her a shirt or blanket that has your scent on it and put it in her area at night. This may be a bit more involved, but try sleeping further and further away from her each night until she becomes more comfortable. But since he is only 6 weeks old he may not be able to hold it all night. So set your alarm to get up twice overnight to take him out and to check on him. If he starts chewing up the blankets or pee pads then you will have to take them out. Part of house training is getting up overnight until they can hold it that long. Most people remove the water before bedtime to prevent urinating overnight. I wish you the best!

It can be hard for a 7-week-old puppy to be comfortable sleeping by himself in a crate, as normally puppies this age would still be sleeping all snuggled up with their mother and littermates. I'm not sure where Jasper's crate is in your home, but I always recommend putting it in the bedroom right beside your bed at first - you can move it later on if you want to, once he's a bit older and sleeping through the night without any problems. This way, he's much less likely to whine and cry because he knows you're right beside him. If he does fuss a bit, you can talk softly to him and rest your hand on top of the crate for him to sniff. For small puppies, if needed, you can even get a soft-sided pet carrier and have him sleep in this on the bed at first. You can gradually transition him to the floor once he's comfortable and no longer crying at night.

Perhaps (and without being there, I can't tell for sure) Loki keeps crying because he gets your attention. You do not need to stay with him, nor does he need something to keep him occupied at night. He needs to learn that nighttime is for sleeping. Once you are sure that all of his needs have been attended to, put him in his crate and walk away . . . and stay away! Do not go back, yell, try to soothe, etc. Once he realizes that his noise won't get the desired result, he'll stop. However, he may get worse temporarily. This does not mean that the tactic isn't working. On the contrary, it means that what he was doing before no longer gets the desired result, so he's ramping up the behavior in the hopes that more will be better. Stand your ground! He will eventually learn for himself that nothing is going to work, so he may as well go to sleep.

For now, make sure to take the puppy outside anytime she cries or wakes up in the middle of the night. This will generally decrease as she gets older. Give her vigorous play sessions right before bed as this will help her to be more tired. You can play some classical music and give her a teddy bear to snuggle with in her bed.
