How to keep 2-week-old puppies cool when it's extremely hot?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! They could jut be more vocal during the day because of all the activity. I would try to keep them indoors where there is air conditioning and fans. If they have to be outdoors then they should be in the shade and not ever in the direct sun. The puppies should not get too hot as that is life threatening, so see what you can do to the environment to change the ambient temperature. I wouldn't recommend the ambient temperature higher than 80 F. I wish you the very best!

It's important to keep him cool especially in days like today, if you have a fan at home you can use it toward your puppy, it should help him cool down significantly. you can use a wet cloth on him several times a day, the water will help cooling him as well.

You can also have Jasper groomed so that his coat is shorter. Fans and even installing misters outside will help keep Jasper cool. I hope this helps! Very short periods of exercise and chasing balls to prevent excessive panting and swelling 3. A spray bottle with cool water/hose or sprinkler /kiddie pool for Frank to go in when he is hot. 4. Fans at Frank's level so he can cool himself 5. Lots of areas of shade outside 6. As soon as Frank looks tired (ideally before he looks tired) stop playing or running 7. You can get a fan and direct it towards them. You can get a large sponge, wet it and direct the fan at the sponge. As the fan dries the sponge it emits cool air as the moisture evaporates. Keep your bunnies out of the sun.

With that heat it is very important to have an area of shade for them to hide, as well as free access to cool water at all times. Ideally, have a sprinkler or some water source (kiddy pool filled with water) that they can go in to cool down. Dogs overheat very easily and can get very sick with overheating. You can have a fan just for him, spray him down with a garden hose, provide a baby pool of water for him to go in when he wants or you can shave him down during the hot season. Be sure to provide shade and plenty of water. I wish you both the best!
