Are wooden catnip chew sticks good for my cat's teeth and health?

Cats will often scratch and ingest the dust from timbers and scratching posts as they groom their feet. This is completely natural behavior and is no concern with untreated timbers. I would be sure to use a non-toxic tree and would not use any sealers or varnish

I'm not sure you will be able to create a finish where the scent will last enough to discourage chewing without potentially being irritating to the nose and discouraging the cat from using the furniture. You certainly can add lemon essential oil in a small amount, but I'm not sure if will deter chewing. Cats generally dislike a citrus taste, so a natural citrus wood cleaner often works well, but again you don't want the scent to be overpowering since their sense of smell is so much better than ours. No, I would not let her chew on any wood actually. Willow trees can toxic if the bark is ingested. Wood pieces in generally are not digested and can lead to an obstruction, vomiting and bloody diarrhea, or cough and choking.

I recommend to stick with toys meant for rodents. It's hard to know if toxicity is a potential concern but the small threads could become wrapped around his teeth. Many mice like to chew on cardboard boxes and toilet paper rolls. They also make wooden toys for rodents. The clear exercise balls and a running wheel will also be fun for Frankie. Hello, actually wood is not the best for your dog. This can lead to splinters and foreign objects that I've seen end up in tracheas, esophagus, stomach, lungs, free floating in the chest or abdomen, or causing major injury to the oral cavity (teeth and gums). If you are going to give Donut a chew toy, I would recommend a Kong toy. You can find these online or at your local pet store. These are better for their teeth and durable. I never recommend antlers because they do break teeth, and rawhides pose a chocking and intestinal blockage risk. Bully sticks are fine as long as you watch your dog when he eats it, and the Nylabone Petsafe Wood Chew is fine too. I hope this helps!
