No, I would not use triple antibiotic ointment on Cyos's nose. Although quite safe on superficial wounds, cats groom and ingest most of the topical ointment you apply and therefore should be used only under direct veterinary supervision and if there are no other appropriate options. Many human ointments contain multiple other ingredients which are not necessarily safe to be swallowed. I would bring him into the vet, and the vet can prescribe him oral antibiotics for the infected scratch.

Ideally, he should be physically examined by your veterinarian before any treatment is administered. He may need systemic antibiotics in addition to topical treatment. Pain medication may also be indicated. Legally, we are prohibited from telling you to medicate your pet in the absence of a physical exam and a VPCR (veterinarian-patient-client relationship).

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Fanta! It looks like an it of moist dermatitis and will likely need antibiotics. I would recommend taking him in to see your vet as soon as you can to get started and likely they will prescribe pain medications as well. During the physical exam they may also aspirate the area for cytology-to rule out eosinophilia granuloma complex. Normally, Triple antibiotic is great to use on mount dermatitis-but they can't be allowed to ingest any of it (this is so close to the mouth I can't recommend using it). An ecollar will be needed to keep him from pawing at his face. I hope this helps and that he feels better soon!

Hi there. You can sure use the Fucidin cream. Just use a thin layer and apply it twice daily. Try to distract her after applying it so if she does lick it it will have at least been on there for a bit to have some contact time to work! If she licks it she will be fine :) Good question! Poor cat. This looks wide enough where it should at the very least get a topical treatment. You can try an over the counter antibitoic ointment or spray from your local pet store. Ask a store representative as to what is available in your area. You should also clean this area with Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water to help keep bacteria and infection at bay. If it doesn't seem to be healing well in the next few days, then a vet visit is warranted at that point. I hope that this heals up well soon! Best of luck moving forward. Take care. : )

Poor guy. You can try a very small amount of Neosporin on this wound and clean it daily with sterile saline. However, if it doesn't heal well then a trip to your vet for antibiotics is needed. An antibiotic shot is available for cats that works really well for wounds like this. Best wishes with your cat Nicco and I hope this heals soon! Take care.
