Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | unspayed | 7 months and 9 days old | 6.6 lbs

Hi. My sister has touched a cat on the street. She's washed her hand with soup & used some disinfectants . Can she transfer any microbes or parasites or infections to Noushi from that cat ?

Your cat should be fine. Most diseases and parasites need more direct contact and since she only touched the stray cat for a short time and washed her hands there should not be anything left for her to give to your cat. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you Noushmc.
