My stray cat has swollen face, bloody eye. Can't afford vet. Help!

Hello, my cats half side of his face has been swollen for three days today he had blood on his eye. I desperately need help , I can not afford a vet and he’s a street cat he wont let me touch him but he’s always here so I consider him mine. He does eat and drink so I’m guessing that’s a good sign. Please help, I want to know if I can get him any meds online.

This is a medical emergency and Ismael has to see a vet now. He could have been hit by a car or injured a fight, and leaving this untreated can lead to vision loss. He will also be in a lot of pain from this, and there are no meds you can get online for him. If he won't let you touch him, you wouldn't be able to administer medication anyway. He needs to see a vet immediately for injectable medication. You need to set out a trap to catch him right away. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website. I'd also see if you can borrow money from family and friends.

Poor kitty! It does sound like he has suffered an injury, and it's quite serious that he isn't going to the bathroom, eating, or drinking. Poor cat! There are no photos attached so I can't see what this wounds look like but I can say that if there is pus, it's infected. This cannot be treated at home, he has to see a vet as soon as possible. If you can't afford a vet, I can give you some financial resources that may help help you. Cat with burst abscesses, swollen face, raspy breathing, can't afford vet.
I am so sorry to hear about Fritz. It is an unusual presentation for sure, as we commonly see abscesses around this area in cats but it is unusual to see them symmetrical (if that is what you are describing), we would also worry about an infection in the root of the tooth, lymph nodes, or salivary glands. Unfortunately your cat require veterinary care, this is not something you can treat at home. You will have to figure out a way to get him into a vet. This may involve finding a clinic that is lower cost- some humane societies or animal protective leagues have lower cost clinics available. Some clinics work with companies such as Care Credit to allow you to charge your bill and pay in monthly installments, and there are some funds for cases where pets need care and owners cannot afford it, or some people even pawn belongings or borrow from friends or family in these cases. I would strongly advise to take him to the vet, he will probably need a course of antibiotics for all these sores, he will also need to be treated for fleas and his eyes needs to be checked as well, maybe he is suffering from an eye infection. if you decide to adopt him i strongly suggest that you get him neutered soon as well, it will prevent him from fighting outside and get injured.
