Why do my sibling cats fight and pull fur? Is this normal behavior?

It could be that they are fighting for dominance, or they could be playing flighting with each other. Given that there is no aggression in the fighting (i.e. biting), it's more likely they are just playing with each other. It could also be that one gets annoyed at the other, they argue over it, and then get over it. It's natural for cats who live together to have incidents like this, and as along as there is no biting or aggression, it's not something to be too concerned over :-)

Do not separate them. let them figure it out themselves. Cats will have tiffs no matter how much they like each other. The fact that they are grooming each other and lie with each other is a good sign that they like each other. Think of their tiffs as brothers having sibling tiffs. It is normal. Let them have their once a day fights. This will eventually subside.

It sounds like Oreo and Bliss get annoyed with each other at times. Just like humans, cats can become annoyed with their companion's company, and react with aggression. I have four cats, and while they typically get along really well with each other, occasionally they have spats where they get grumpy with each other. It's normal cat behavior, and not something to worry about :-)

That's ok, this can happen. Resident cats can have disagreements with each other. You may hear some howling, hissing, and growling. Again, this is normal. You might even see them swipe at each other. I would only intervene if the fighting becomes aggressive, they are biting each other and hitting each other. Otherwise, leave them be to work it out on their own. I hope this helps.

This sounds like a typical play behavior. In general watch for signs that one cat is trying to avoid the other cat. Watch for the cats hissing at each other. Watch for any signs of intentional bites or scratches that leave marks. If the cats are willingly interacting and you don’t notice any hiding or avoidance behaviors, this is likely consensual play. Humping, especially in fixed females is just a show of dominance. They are trying to figure out who is boss. As they get older this may decrease but in some siblings may occasionally happen for years. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

IT can be common for two cats to get along sometimes and not other just like children. The cats are working together to figure out perfect harmony in there environment. I would not be concerned unless you notice abnormal urination/defecation or you feel like the two cats are constantly fighting. IF they are having occasional disagreements that can just be normal pet behavior. If you feel the younger cat has a lot of energy I would recommend trying to increase play by hiding toys and treats around the house. Hope that helps
