My 2.5 year old Syrian hamster started dragging one of his hind legs. He does not appear to be in pain. It is intermittent, sometimes he uses the leg (but both legs are weaker now than they used to be). Should I take him to a vet or just leave him be as at this age the stress of visiting a vet is a major concern? If this is something that is easily sorted out by administering some meds I would be inclined to get the problem sorted, otherwise it would probably be kinder to leave him alone?
