Should I worry if my senior cat moans in her sleep but acts normal?

If Millard is completely asleep while moaning he may not be in pain - he could be dreaming or even snoring. If he seems to moan when he's awake as well then I'd be more concerned about pain and would recommend having your vet examine him.

That is odd! It’s unknown if pets have nightmares and I’m not sure that we will ever be able to know. Watch Cow for any health issues such as weight loss, imbalance, vomiting or diarrhea and have him seen if these are noted. If you can record the episode, that would be helpful as well. You can always have him seen by his veterinarian and if he gets a clean bill of health, then you can be assured it’s all just behavioral. Poor Lily! If she has always been like this then I would not be that concerned. I have seen cats that aren't capable of vocalizing or make more of a "squeak" than a "meow" since they were kittens and they have been fine. If she is doing anything else that is new or concerning, then I would consider having some diagnostics done. I hope this helps!

With that kind of vocalization and restless behavior, I suspect he may have a urinary tract infection. I recommend getting him to see your vet as soon as possible, Male cats are especially prone to becoming blocked and unable to urinate. If it isn't urinary, he still may have some underlying medical condition that is making him uncomfortable and restless. Your vet will do an exam and labwork to determine what is causing this behavioral change and how best to treat it.
