Why is my senior cat eating less, drooling, and losing teeth?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | 18 years and 5 months old | 5.5 lbs

My 19 yr old cat who usually chows down Friday on has only been eating half her food and hanging out with us a lot...she is cross eyed and usually hides.so change in behavior. I noticed she lost her two upper k9 but no sores and no signs of dental issues. But her toung is hanging out and drooling and one eye seems unfocused. But no pain wants to be per but stinks and losing hair. I have had to help her with grooming

I would be concerned she may have kidney disease - reduced appetite, tooth loosening and vision loss due to high blood pressure and retinal detachment are common side effects. I recommend a vet check as soon as possible, taking a urine sample using special collection litter would be helpful for full assessment
