My rabbit won't eat or drink after neuter. Is it pain meds or serious?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | neutered | 1 year and 4 months old | 3 lbs

My bunbun was neutered a day ago and he is not eating nor drinking, maybe a little nibble here and there but that is it. Should I take him to the vet to have him checked or is it just the pain meds? Please help I am genuinely concered...

Yes, I think you should take him back to the vet. These guys tend to get GI stasis ( where the intestinal tract stops moving) after surgery sometimes and it is best to get him treated before it gets too bad. It could be the pain meds but I doubt it.
