What causes my Persian cat's watery, dirty eyes? How to treat?

I have a Persian as well, and face the same problem you have with Smooshee. Because a Persian's face is so flat, they have a shortened nasal cavity. A course of doxycycline can help clear up an outbreak of chlamydia in cats, and you can have Smooshee seen by a vet to see if she does suffer from it as it may help with her tear stain problem.

It may be normal drainage but at this point it has caused a skin infection which needs to be treated with antibiotics. there might also be an eye infection there, it's not possible to tell from the picture, but if this is the case Kimber will also need antibiotic eyedrops. bottom line- you need to take him back to the vet in order to get these treatments.
